Inspired by Liz

So....Liz keeps the world up to date on the 'things of Liz' with her Daily Life blog. I so enjoy reading it, and I so desire to do the same, that it encourages me to drag out my 3 year old blog and re-vamp it now and again, only to go months without touching it once more. I justify the erratic posts with "It's something I'll do when I retire". But wait...Liz isn't retired. She has a husband and school and work and hobbies...yet she finds the time to put thoughts on screen. So why not I. Therefore, as random as ever...here I am.

The current event, other than the 'usual' (husband, homeschooling, kids, church, sports,) is kitchen remodeling. And though I'm no expert, I can certainly chronicle my adventure so as to help others who find themselves on the same journey, or just look back years from now (when the kitchen is done) and read how it all came about! So, thank you Liz, for inspiring your 'old' friend to do something 'out there'. Whether it be enjoyed by others or not, it's nice to be published!

Happy New Year!

We had our 6th (or 7th) annual New Year's Eve Bash with the Norris Family.

As usual, we had a great time and great food. Among the fave treats were Li'l Smokies, and Blueberry Delight!

The fave activities were: for older boys, Guitar Hero; younger boys, Delta Force; younger girl, terrorizing the Delta Force; older girls, Pirates of the Caribbean 3; and for the mature crowd, Sequence. We also enjoyed peanuts by the firepit, various fireworks displays from the neighborhood, and our own personal pyrotechnics by J.D. Thanks! They were fantastic! Especially the one that chased Melissa into the house!

Missing participants were Rachel and boyfriend, Austin, who were in west Texas, and Tony, leader of the Norris clan, who was stuck on a train. You guys were really missed! Poor Rick was way outnumbered with women and children!

We added new members to the event. Melissa's sister Becky, her 14 year old son Matthew, and 5 year old daughter Alison. What a blessing to have them join us.

For some reason, we never took a group picture to document the last 6 or 7 Happy New Years, but we remedied that this year. So included is a group picture of the Norris-Simmons Bash '07.
